Spring Soul Cleaning

Who doesn't need to sweep out the soul once in awhile?  To take a broom and dust out the cobwebs that have entangled and burdened the spirit.  Take that broom hit them hard and with force, sweep away the things that make us unhappy and immovable.  Breathe in the new Spring air deep to those emptied hollows and energize the life within.  Take in the sweetness of those around you and energize your self by their lives and spirits.  Vivere, in Italian is to live but more importantly it is to last or endure.  Who can last and endure life without cleansing the soul?  Who wants to live with the burdens of unforgiveness, shame, guilt and hurt.

It is not good for the soul to remain planted and to not accept the grace freely given.  The soul needs that healing.  It needs to have the opportunity to unburden itself.  We need to unburden ourselves.  Spring is the perfect time to deeply breathe in life and to get rid of the things we hold on to for no other reason than to hold it.

Today I chose to unload guilt, shame, and hurt and I chose to forgive both myself and others.  I chose to accept God's grace and breathe in that soul cleansing air.  I am sweeping out the cobwebs of my soul and I won't examine the cobwebs either to see what they hold.  They just need to go, their intertwining webs that link one hurt to another, one guilt to another and one fear to another do nothing but hold a person back. Breathe in the cleansing air, breathe out the hurt, guilt and pain.

The air we breathe can heal and cleanse and even lift our spirits.  When you take the time to breathe you realize how truly blessed you are as a human to be exactly where God placed you fulfilling your own destiny.  You can focus more clearly on your decisions when you breathe deeply.  You realize details of your life which would otherwise escape in the simple busyness of life.

This mindfulness has allowed me to breathe in the people and goodness around me as well.  I can take a moment with my boys and breathe in their spirit, energy and love. I can breathe in my sisters free-spirited ways, if only for a moment.  I can breathe in laughter from a small child in a park or one singing loudly in a restaurant.  These little things fill my soul.

So breathe deep and sweep deep; clear the cobwebs and fill your soul anew.  Vivere, live, last and endure.  It is only in this that you can enjoy the life given.
